Cops nab five robbery suspects
CEBU, Philippines - Five robbery suspects fell into the hands of police authorities last Thursday and Friday during a saturation drive in barangay Kalunasan, Cebu City.
Elements of the Theft and Robbery Section of the Cebu City Police Office served a warrant of arrest against Rusty Rosaroso, Robert Hermoso alias “Yogi,” Raul Reyes, Antonio Mulig alias “Buyog” and George Pala for the crime of frustrated murder.
But TRS chief, Sr. Insp. Michael Anthony Bastes, said that based on the information they have gathered, the suspects were involved in series of robbery incidents, using motorcycle in their nefarious activities.
The warrant of arrest was issued by Regional Trial Court branch 23 Judge Generosa Labra dated July 14 with bail fixed at P40,000 each.
The TRS personnel were assisted by the Theft and Robbery Auxiliary Force, formerly Barangay Intelligence Network, and the barangay tanods of Kalunasan.
Reyes was reportedly arrested about 3 p.m., and continuous operation was conducted that led to the arrest of Rosaroso around 7 p.m. and Hermoso about an hour later.
At around 5 a.m. last Friday, Mulig and Pala were also arrested in the same barangay.
All arrested suspects are temporarily detained at CCPO stockade pending their turn over to the court that issued the warrant of arrest against them. — Niña G. Sumacot/WAB (THE FREEMAN)
