CEBU, Philippines – On the third week of this month, the whole nation will observe the 31st National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week per Proclamation No. 361 and Administrative Order 35 directing all government and non-government organizations to promote and carry out relevant activities that will highlight the topic.
The theme for this year’s observance is “31st NDPR Week: Tungo sa Katuparan ng Karapatan ng PWDs.”
To give prominence and urgency to the event, Department of Social Welfare and Development-7 regional director Ma. Evelyn Macapobre suggested various activities to make it more colorful and meaningful.
There will be hanging of streamers, fora on the Convention on the Rights of Person’s with Disabilities, photo exhibit, jobs fair for PWDs, livelihood and trade fairs featuring the products made or produced by PWDs and “Paligsahan sa Kasaysayan at Kultura para sa may K.” — Jessica Ann R.
