CPPO director apologizes to Garcia

-

CEBU, Philippines – Cebu Provincial Police Office director Jesus Gacquing Sr. apologized to Governor Gwendolyn Garcia for the offense and inappropriate behavior by one of his police officers.

Gacquing has ordered a three-month suspension against PO2 Noel Rodriguez of Oslob Police Station who allegedly reported to duty under the influence of liquor.

“Rodriguez is now serving suspension from June 22, 2009 up to August 20, 2009 for the offense and appropriate action will be undertaken against this fellow to further discipline him,” Gacquing told Garcia in his letter dated July 2.

Last July 1, Garcia has called up Gacquing and informed him about the incident.

Right after receiving a call from the governor, Gacquing immediately instructed Sr. Inspector Juan Casipong, Oslob chief of police, to submit an incident report in relation to the incident.

Rodriguez allegedly reported to duty at the Oslob police station while drunk on June 7, 2009 at 11:30 a.m.

Casipong said he warned Rodriguez when he learned that the latter reported to work under the influence of liquor.

It was learned that Rodriguez got his suspension order only after 21 days. — Garry B. Lao/WAB (THE FREEMAN)
