Student zapped dead during electricity class

CEBU, Philippines – A 19-year-old male student died after he was electrocuted during a Practical Electricity class past 6 p.m. the other day inside the Cebu State College of Science and Technology along MJ Cuenco Avenue, Cebu City.

The fatality was identified as Kenneth Ryan Nudalo Nagsuban, a student of CSCST taking the course Opportunity Livelihood and Technology Entrepreneurial Classes (OLTECH) and a resident of Lapu-Lapu City.

Investigation revealed that the victim was attending his Practical Electricity classes with his classmates and Instructor Ireneo Taperla when a certain Wilfred Alburo, a 4th year Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education student came to borrow electrical instruments from the said shop.

The victim attended to Alburo and approached the demonstration table where he came into contact with the continuity electrical tester.

“Live man diay ni,” he reportedly said before he fell to the floor.

The victim’s classmates and his instructor tried to help him and took him to Cebu City Medical Center where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
