Truck boy falls off vehicle, dies

CEBU, Philippines - A 20-year-old truck boy met his untimely death late evening last Friday when he was ran over by the very truck he was riding.

Investigation revealed that the victim, Michael Lastimosa, was riding on top of a cargo truck bearing plate number GMV-838 driven by one Reggie Labajo when he was reportedly hit by a branch of a tree while the truck was traveling in sitio Baha-baha, barangay Liburon in Carcar City.

Lastimosa fell off the truck with his head hit by the vehicle’s rear wheel.

At the time he fell, Lastimosa was on top of the vehicle with another truck boy identified as “Mark Anthony”.

Lastimosa was brought to Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center but was declared dead on arrival.

The Carcar police said investigation is still ongoing, as the owner of the cargo truck, Felix Cabusas, allegedly did not report the incident to the authorities. Cabusas is reportedly engaged in the noodle business.
