Commission created to promote 3rd District
CEBU, Philippines - Governor Gwendolyn Garcia and 3rd District Rep. Pablo John Garcia yesterday pledged P500,000 each for the Cebu Midwest Tourism and Investment Promotion Commission, a body created to promote tourism and investment in the 3rd district, as well as unite the local government units therein.
The 3rd district is composed of the municipalities of Aloguinsan, Asturias, Balamban, Tuburan, Barili, Pinamungajan and Toledo City.
James Gallarde, convenor of the commission, said the commission was created because the 3rd district is now ready to showcase its tourism attractions, as well as welcome investors.
Pablo John also shares the sentiment, saying it is no longer difficult to bring in investors to the district because roads leading there have already been improved.
“This will be a start of the progress in the 3rd district and with this, I pledge my wholehearted support,” Pablo John said.
The Governor, for her part, said she is “inspired” by the creation of the commission because unity is what the province needs to achieve progress. — Johanna T. Natavio/JMO (THE FREEMAN)
