3 men face murder raps

CEBU, Philippines - Three men were charged with murder and frustrated murder before the Provincial Prosecutors Office yesterday for the ambush of two brothers, one of whom was killed, last June 23.

Ramil Navarez has filed charges against cousins Roel and Agrifino Casilac and a certain Tarciano Cirunay who allegedly waylaid and ambushed them in sitio Langub, barangay Sayao, Sibonga town.

According to the affidavit of Ramil, he was with his brother Ryn on their way home when they saw the three men at the side of the road, each armed with a handgun.

Upon seeing them, the three allegedly shot them. Ramil said he scampered for his life leaving Ryn who was shot.

Ramil further said the three followed him to where he hid and he cried for help.

He said if two men had not found him and brought him to the hospital he would have been dead already. — Jasmin R. Uy/BRP
