Cleanup team will remove "eyesores" from streets without probe - Jagmoc

-

CEBU, Philippines – All streamers, posters and placards put up along the city’s streets can be removed by members of the City Hall’s composite team without any investigation.

Councilor Edwin Jagmoc said the Office of the Building Official has not issued new permits allowing the hanging or posting of streamers and other posters throughout the city after June 30, thus, all materials put up without permit will be removed even without investigation.

Jagmoc is the chairman of the City Council’s committee on public services.

During the meeting of the composite team members yesterday, OBO was tasked to furnish the Department of Public Services chaired by Engr. Dionesio Gualiza an updated list of entities and private individuals authorized by the city to install advertising materials beside the roads.

Jagmoc said barangay officials have also been asked to cooperate with the composite team in clearing the city’s streets of “eyesores” such as old streamers, placards and other unauthorized advertising materials. Even construction materials left sprawled in the streets will be rounded up.

“Apilon namo og limpyo kanang mga bas ug ubang construction materials nga anaa ra gibutang daplin sa karsada. Maghimo hinoon mi og information campaign aron mahibalo ang publiko nga sugdan namo pagpatuman kini karong Lunes,” Jagmoc said.

Among the common unauthorized placards are the ones offering “Lipat Bahay” services.
