For victimizing Indian national, 2 robbery suspects charged
CEBU, Philippines - Two alleged motorcycle-riding robbers were charged of robbery with attempted homicide before the City Prosecutor’s Office on Thursday for robbing an Indian national last June 9.
Danilo Borres Limotan, 43, of Sitio Tanay, Barangay Talamban and his cohort Allan Quijano, 30, of Sitio Kabulihan of the same barangay were charged after police collared Limotan inside the house of Indian national Jatinder Kumar, 32, in one of the subdivisions in Barangay Punta Princesa.
Quijano was allegedly able to escape by taking the victim’s motorcycle and sped away before the police arrived.
Kumar, in his affidavit, said that while he was waiting for his wife to open the gate of their house, the two suspects suddenly appeared from his back and announced a hold up. When the victim tried to resist, Limotan, who was armed with a caliber .38 revolver loaded with four bullets, allegedly tried to shoot him but the gun jammed, giving the Indian national the opportunity to fight back.
During the commotion, Kumar’s wife called the police station for assistance which immediately dispatched a miscellaneous team to the area.
When Limotan tried to enter Kumar’s house to get some items, the police arrived and apprehended him.
Recovered from Limotan’s possession were the revolver, a black wallet with P1,000 cash inside and a cellular phone worth P4,000. — Jasmin R. Uy/WAB (THE FREEMAN)
