Carmen's 158th year celebration opens
CEBU, Philippines - The municipal government of Carmen yesterday formally opened the week-long celebration in connection with the town’s 158th Founding Anniversary slated on June 16.
Carmen Mayor Sonia Pua led town officials, barangay captains, department heads, and employees in yesterday’s parade and in the opening of a photo exhibit of Pua’s predecessors and on Carmen’s tourism, agricultural, cultural and religious aspects.
According to Pua, this is the first time that they organized such in line with the founding anniversary of the town and that to sustain the endeavor, she called on her constituents to stay united and to rally behind the municipality’s undertakings as this is necessary for the continued progress and further development of Carmen. — Jose P.
