Minor mauled, shot to death

CEBU, Philippines – A 17-year old boy was allegedly mauled and shot to death by four unidentified persons early morning yesterday on M.J. Cuenco Avenue, barangay Mabolo.

Edwin Daño, a first year high school student of Florencio Urot National High School and resident of Gil Tudtud Street was found already dead along the road. He sustained a gunshot wound on the right side of his body with the bullet exiting on his left side.

During an investigation in the area, police learned that at around 4 a.m., the victim was walking with a certain “Opaw” when the assailants allegedly waylaid them and ganged up on the victim before one of the perpetrators pulled out a gun and shot him. Police have no idea yet on the real motive of the crime. The victim’s body will be submitted to an autopsy examination. — Niña G. Sumacot (THE FREEMAN)
