Thieves take cash, valuables from San Fernando school

CEBU, Philippines – Thieves broke into a classroom of the Central School in the southern town of San Fernando, carting away cash and other items last Saturday afternoon.

Three teachers complained about the lost items.

The victims were identified as Manuel Manugas Jr., 59, married; Jewelyn Labitad, 43, married; and Estrella Labuca.

Policemen from the San Fernando station said that the thieves destroyed the main door of the classroom and stole an extension wire, a microphone, a scientific calculator and P2,500 cash.

Barangay tanod Alfredo Sebial said that one of the suspects is Jack Sala. He said that there was another person who worked with the suspect.

Chief Insp. Jovito Canlapan, chief of the San Fernando Police, said that they are still conducting a follow-up operation on the case and are waiting for the school representative to file appropriate charges against the suspects. – Christopher Gabriel Bonjoc/NLQ (THE FREEMAN)
