Sunday fire in Mambaling leaves P50,000 damage

CEBU, Philippines – A fire that broke out despite the downpour the other night in sitio Brotherhood, barangay Basak-San Nicolas left damages to property estimated to be around P50,000.

The fire, of which origin is yet to be determined, razed the two-storey house owned by one Joy Gutierrez. The house was made of light materials.

SFO1 Winston Neri, radio operator of the Cebu City Fire Department, said that the fire broke out at 9:38 p.m. and was controlled 16 minutes later.

He said that the fire was raised to second alarm.

He also said that the responding firefighters found it easier this time to control the fire as the rain poured that night.
