Two men set to face charges for child abuse

CEBU, Philippines – Two reported homosexuals were arrested yesterday morning for allegedly molesting a 16-year-old boy past 12 a.m. yesterday in sitio Alumnos, barangay Basak-San Nicolas, this city.

Suspects identified as Judiben Cabillo alias Chique, 19, and Bambino Llamas alias Bambi, 34, allegedly molested their 16-year-old neighbor.

Cabillo said that he and Llamas were sitting outside of their residence when the boy, believed to be drunk, passed by them walking in a “sluggish manner”.

Cabillo allegedly called the victim’s attention and offered him a seat. He then opened the zipper of the victim’s pants and together with Llamas, started touching the minor's genitals. Cabillo allegedly kissed the victim.

Later on, Llamas said he stopped touching the victim's private parts when he failed to give him a turn-on. “Mihawa na lang ko. Sila na lang duha ang nahibilin,” Llamas said.

Cabillo admitted of a sexual intercourse that happened between him and the victim.

Llamas and Cabillo were arrested after a cousin of the victim, who happened to pass by the area, told the father of the boy of the incident he saw.

Josie Cabillo and Felisa Llamas, mothers of the suspects, said that after their sons' arrest, they went to the house of the victim to have the matter settled with his father, Romulo.

Allegedly, Romulo said that because of the embarrassment they are facing brought forth by the incident, each of them has to pay P10,000 and that they have until 4 p.m. [of yesterday] to produce the said amount.

Dili man sa ingon nga nangwarta ko. Angay lang g’yod na sila'ng patagmon. Mga mangtas kaayo, Romulo reportedly said.

If a settlement between the two parties will not be arrived at, a charge for child abuse will be filed against the two suspects who are now detained at the Cebu City Police Office stockade. – Niña G. Sumacot/MEEV (THE FREEMAN)
