"Shoplifters" charged in court
CEBU, Philippines – Two persons who allegedly stole imported perfumes from a department store in the city were formally charged before the Regional Trial Court yesterday.
Facing charges are Harold Labasa and Filipina Sanchez of Barangay Mabolo who were caught allegedly stealing imported perfumes worth at least P26,000 last May 1 from Metro Ayala. They were caught by the mall’s house detectives.
House detectives Janet Morales and Daniel Tanghiyan said they kept an eye on Labasa and Sanchez after observing that the two acted suspiciously inside the mall.
Later, they reportedly saw Labasa and Sanchez allegedly taking some items from a rack and placing them inside Sanchez’ bag. Labasa also allegedly took some items and placed it inside his pocket.
Recovered from Sanchez were five Angel Sue perfumes worth P1,200 each, eight other Angel sue products worth P500 each, two True Match worth P695 each, and three Touch Magique at P695 each.
Meanwhile, recovered from Labasa were a Burberry Brit Sheer worth P4,698; a Gucci “Envy Me” worth P5,865; and a Hugo Boss worth P2,757.
