Digal takes over CPPO top post

CEBU, Philippines – Cebu Provincial Police Office deputy director for administration Supt. Erson Digal has taken over as chief of the CPPO following the reassignment of Sr. Supt. Carmelo Valmoria to Camp Crame.

Digal said he will continue the policies of Valmoria, including the wearing the proper uniform.

“Kung unsa ang gibuhat ni sir before mao ra sab ang pamaagi nga akong ipatuman samtang ako ang acting PD (provincial director).” Digal said.

He added that Valmoria was serious in his job and described him as a good leader.

“Wala gyud ka’y ikasaway niya,” Digal added.

Digal went to the office of Governor Gwen Garcia for a courtesy call yesterday afternoon.

CPPO deputy director for operations Supt. Romeo Perigo will also handle the administration for the meantime while former Naga police chief Supt. Renato Malazarte has been designated the CPPO headquarters commander.

Digal said that he would probably change the guards in their headquarters to young policemen who do not have any cases like the present guards. — Christopher Gabriel C. Bonjoc/BRP (THE FREEMAN)
