Cebu to strengthen ties with Guam

-

CEBU, Philippines – Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia will fly to Guam this Wednesday for a visit that is expected to further strengthen the relationship between the province and the foreign state.

The lady governor will be attending a parallel business conference as per invitation from Guam Governor Felix Camacho to discuss bilateral agreements and further tie ups.

Garcia said she will request for the update on the expansion of the military plan and the additional manpower to be deployed in the said US territory.

They will also discuss pertinent issues and infrastructures to be built here in Cebu province.

“It’s good to provide the venue of an exchange of ideas and possible business match up,” she said.

According to Garcia, she will also invite the Guam governor and some of their officials as well as businessmen to attend the upcoming “One Cebu Expo” this year that is organized by the provincial government that will be also participated by the investors from different parts of the country.

But she added that it would not only be exclusive from investors from the Philippines but also to other guests, particularly from Cebu’s sister provinces from outside the country.

She revealed that the province is also anticipating some 300 Russian businessmen to attend a forum that would be held at the Cebu International Convention Center in the coming months. This is in line with the 440th Founding Anniversary Celebration of the province.
