Farmer shot dead at birthday party

CEBU, Philippines - A farmer attending a friend’s birthday party was shot dead by a neighbor in barangay Mantalongon, Dalaguete town yesterday dawn.

Reynaldo Sasin, also called “Nally”, a resident of the place, died after being shot by Blesilo Kabalikan, 35, who later surrendered to the police.

Initial investigation revealed that both victim and suspect attended a birthday party in the house of a certain Jesus Calvo.

They were both already drunk and for some reason the victim grabbed the suspect’s shirt and they had an argument.

Later the suspect pulled his .38 cal. revolver and shot the victim.

He did not try to flee but decided to wait until the responding policemen arrived and arrested him. – Christopher Gabriel Bonjoc/BRP (THE FREEMAN)
