PDEA arrest 14 for drugs
CEBU, Philippines - Fourteen persons were arrested yesterday around 2 p.m. following a buy-bust operation by elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-7 along Caban St., barangay Pasil, Cebu City.
PDEA-7 spokesman Jessie Tabanao said last Wednesday two concerned citizens called to report the activities of a suspected drug pusher, Jun Ray Chavez, in the area. The following day they sent personnel who later confirmed the information.
Yesterday PDEA-7 conducted a buy-bust and instructed their agent and asset to buy two packs of shabu from Chavez worth P200 each.
Chavez and his cousin Arthur Ebañez were arrested during the buy-bust and Chavez allegedly yielded eight more packs of shabu after he was searched.
Tabanao also said when they checked Chavez’ house they found what was believed to be a drug den and found 12 persons there.
While Tabanao clarified that they were not caught in the act of using drugs, two packs of shabu and paraphernalia were found on the table in the room.
The twelve, Ralph Tamelin, 21; Ariel Quiliope, 22; Christopher Roy, 19; Gersome Arnesin, 22; Sunshine Alicaya, 25; Dominic Cosen, 22; Cecilio Otero, 40; Alvin Taran, 22; Gwendolyn Marie Cañares, 32; Eljoe Mier, 18; Jeffrey Chavez, 34; and Dionito Gaviola, 34, may be charged for visiting a drug den.
But more cases will be filed against anyone found positive of drugs.
