Wife to get financial reward for slain cop

CEBU, Philippines - The wife of the slain policeman Noriel Luague will soon receive financial reward from the Cebu City government for his good performance while he was still in active service.

The City Council committee on laws and ordinances, headed by Councilor Edgardo Labella, shows no objection to the proposed granting of the financial reward for the slain policeman.

Luague was shot and killed by suspected gun supplier Ramon “Boy” Baclohan who Luague and some other enforcers wanted to arrest in barangay Zapatera last year.

Councilor Augustus Pe Jr., chairman of the council committee on peace and order, proposed that a reward be granted to Luague, on his wife’s behalf now working at the City Hall and is assigned to Pe’s office.

It was learned that Luague was also among those policemen who arrested suspected Alpha Kappa Rho hitman Aristotle Aves. He was commended by police officials on the very same day he was killed.

The raid on Baclohan’s house in sitio Sab-a, barangay Zapatera was conducted after the police learned that Baclohan supplies guns to alleged Akrho members. — Rene U. Borromeo/MEEV (THE FREEMAN)
