Police file complaint vs. "bigtime pusher"

-

CEBU, Philippines – A criminal complaint was filed yesterday against a suspected bigtime drug pusher in Balamban following the confiscation of more than two kilos of dried marijuana leaves from his possession during a buy-bust operation.

Members of the Consolacion Police Station filed the complaint against Panfilo Sabido before the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office for violation of Article II, Section 5 of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

Sabido was subjected to a buy-bust operation around 11 a.m. last March 12 in sitio Kalubihan, barangay Magsaysay, Balamban.

Although it was already out of their jurisdiction, the Consolacion policemen conducted the operation in coordination with the elements of Balamban Police Station and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

Sabido, however, managed to elude arrest when he sensed that the two persons buying two and a half kilos of dried marijuana were policemen.

He immediately ran leaving behind the dried marijuana, weighing scale, an air gun and the P3,500 buy-bust money.

Based on intelligence report, Sabido, also known as ‘Manoy,” is growing marijuana in the mountain barangays of Balamban. — Fred P. Languido/LPM (THE FREEMAN)
