Alleged nephew of Lapu VM, 3 others nabbed for shabu

-

CEBU, Philippines - A buy-bust operation last Saturday evening in barangay Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu City, saw the arrest of four persons, including an alleged nephew of the city’s vice mayor, who are reportedly engaged in illegal drugs.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-7 spokesman Jessie Tabanao said that they arrested Victor Amores, 42, reportedly a nephew of Lapu-Lapu City Vice Mayor Mario Amores, and a Level 2 drug pusher in the watchlist of the PDEA.

The others arrested were Josephine Borbon, 42, and siblings Lala Dumatumao, 19 and Mila Dumatumao, 20, all residents of barangay Bulacao, Cebu City.

Tabanao said that an agent from PDEA-Manila served as the poseur-buyer who negotiated with Borbon for the purchase of two packs of shabu amounting to P200 each.

Borbon allegedly then told the poseur-buyer to wait near a gasoline station in the said place as Amores will be delivering the items ordered onboard a motorcycle.

Minutes later, Amores arrived in the said place and reportedly handed the packs of shabu over to Borbon who then gave the items to the poseur-buyer.

After the poseur-buyer gave the signal, lawmen came in to arrest the suspects.

He added that the Dumatumao sisters were the ones who assured Borbon they will see to it that no police will be in the area during the transaction.

Aside from the two packs of shabu, Amores also had in his possession a medium pack of shabu and three small packs amounting to P200 each.

Meanwhile, Tabanao said a concerned citizen also approached them and told them about a shabu session near the said place.

PDEA-7 official Rayford Yap then ordered two PDEA agents to check the place and they arrested two men inside a house.

Roberto Tumulak alias “Intong”, 42, a resident of Gun-ob, and his neighbor Jeff Sildura, 33, were caught cutting pieces of tinfoil.

Tabanao said that both Tumulak and Sildura admitted they were about to have a session that night but were only waiting for the shabu to be delivered to them.

The arrested persons are now detained at the PDEA-7 office waiting for the filing of charges. — Johanna T. Natavio/MEEV (THE FREEMAN)
