Amok hacks disco-goer

CEBU, Philippines - A man was severely wounded when another man went wild and hacked him during a benefit dance in sitio Sangi, barangay Hagnaya, San Remigio early morning last Wednesday.

The victim, Rutchito Muñez, of legal age and resident of barangay Poblacion, San Remigio sustained hack wound to the head and is now recuperating in the hospital.

Police has identified the suspect as Froilan Labores alias “Keki,” of legal age and resident of place.

PO2 Ricardo Ancajas of San Remegio Police Station said that barangay Poblacion kagawad Resnar Dela Peña reported the incident to their office.

But when they responded to the scene, the benefit dance was already halted and they saw the victim already injured.

Muñez was rushed to Don Severo Verallo Hospital due to the hack wound on the left side of his head, while the suspect immediately fled after the incident and remains at large until now. —Niña G. Sumacot/WAB   (THE FREEMAN)
