Two robbers on bike shoot security guard

CEBU, Philippines - A security guard landed in the hospital after he was shot by two unidentified men who robbed his wife of her handbag last Saturday night in sitio Bulho, barangay Pulangbato, Cebu City.

The victim, Crispin Luar, 37, a member of the Assault Security Agency, was rushed to the North General Hospital in barangay Talamban for the treatment of the gunshot wound to the left portion of his body.

The perpetrators, who remain unidentified until now, fled with the handbag that they took from Crispin’s wife.

The victim’s wife, Anita, told police that she and her husband were on their way home on board a motorcycle when the perpetrators, who were on board a red Honda XRM motorcycle with no plate number, suddenly blocked their path.

The man riding pillion then shot Crispin once and then grabbed the handbag of Anita, which did not contain any valuables.

After the incident, the two perpetrators then sped towards barangay Pulangbato proper while the victim was rushed to the hospital for treatment. — Niña Chrismae G. Sumacot/WAB (THE FREEMAN)
