Cops still looking for pastor's wife
CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu City Police Office said it is still trying to locate the wife of religious leader Leonardo Jastiva even if he will no longer cooperate in its investigation into the alleged abduction of his wife Judith.
CCPO director Patrocinio Comendador Jr. said that until yesterday, there is no strong evidence to establish that Judith was really kidnapped.
Though the case was already assigned to the Presidential Anti-Crime Emergency Response, Comendador sent Sr. Insp. George Ylanan, chief of the Intelligence Division and Management Branch, to talk to Jastiva.
Jastiva, national president of the said International Missionary Society of Seventh-Day Adventist Church Reform Movement, said that the abductors of his wife have not communicated with him even if it has been a week since she was taken.
Comendador said that they told Jastiva to report to them if ever his wife reappears.
As reported earlier, Jastiva said he will just remain silent and wait for the investigation by the police.
Jastiva said last February 9 he and his wife were walking along P. Abella St., barangay Labangon when a blue Mitsubishi Lancer blocked their path.Three men then came out and took Judith.— Niña Chrismae G. Sumacot/BRP (THE FREEMAN)
