Comelec denies appeal of Pardo barangay chief

CEBU, Philippines - The Commission on Election reportedly denied the appeal of incumbent Pardo barangay captain Danilo Lim that he won over opponent Fermin Badayos Dasmariñas.

Dasmariñas was said to have won over Lim with a margin of 134 votes which was seen during a recount of 47 precincts done by the Municipal Trial Court in Cities.

The legal counsel of Dasmariñas, lawyer Delon Urot, said that he received the decision of the Comelec yesterday and said that he will be talking to his client as to when will be the oathtaking.

“Anytime he could take his oath because the Comelec has already denied the appeal of Lim,” he added.

Last July, Lim filed a temporary restraining order to Comelec against the decision of the MTC declaring Dasmariñas as the winner.

In May of last year, Comelec declared Dasmariñas as winner after a recount. — Ferliza C. Contratista and AJ de la Torre/MEEV   (THE FREEMAN)
