Man shot dead in Compostela

Cebu - Unknown gunman attacked a man and his son outside their house in barangay Panangban, Compostela town early morning last Wednesday.

Gil Oliva, 52, sustained several gunshot wounds to the different parts of his body that caused his untimely death while his son, Igil, managed to flee unscathed.

Police initial investigation revealed that at around 6 a.m., the victims were outside their house when an unknown man suddenly appeared and fired at them several times.

Gil was hit in his head, left arm and left leg that caused his instantaneous death. The assailant then shot Igil two times but the latter managed to evade and ran away.

The gunman immediately fled after he saw Gil fell to the ground bathed in his own blood.

PO1 Rom Balvedre, who was one of those who responded to the crime scene, recovered two slugs of still undetermined caliber of firearm. — Christopher Gabriel Bonjoc/WAB (THE FREEMAN)
