Police eye third party in slay of Iranian

CEBU - Police are now studying the third party angle in the killing of a 20-year-old Iranian student early morning last Thursday at Juana Osmeña Extension, barangay Capitol Site, Cebu City.

Sr. Insp. Mario Monilar, chief of Homicide Section of Cebu City Police Office said they have received information that there is a “third party” involved in the relationship of Ashkar Aminian and his girlfriend.

However, the police official said that they are yet to verify this information and study if it has something to do in the killing of Aminian.

“All angles must be looked into including the relationship... Sa pagkakaron, among gihimo ang tanan para mahatagan og kasulbaran ning kasoha,” Monilar said.

Monilar said that they invited Aminian’s girlfriend last Thursday for interrogation as they are also looking at the angle that the “precarious romantic relationship” of the victim as one of the possible motives of the crime.

According to him, they are still in the process of elimination and gathering all information by interrogating persons linked to the victim. He asked for any body who could have witnessed the crime to give information to help them in their investigation.

Monilar said they were informed that the victim was a good-natured man and that he has no negative records in school and at Avila compound where he lived for six months.

Police said the victim’s body would be buried once his elder brother arrives.

The Homicide Section chief warned the public to as much as possible keep away from the streets during unholy hours of the night as this gives opportunity for bad elements to do crimes. — Niña Chrismae G. Sumacot   (THE FREEMAN)
