Man killed during beauty pageant

Cebu - A 28-year-old man was found lying dead behind a stage where a beauty pageant was just held in barangay Libertad, Bogo City, last Wednesday around 8 a.m.

The victim was identified as Policarpio Ursal Obial, single, a resident of sitio Igsa-og, barangay Nailon, of the said city.

PO1 Joseph Salvador of the Bogo City police said that a beauty pageant was held Tuesday evening and the people who were watching it reported hearing something like a gunshot, but it was largely ignored as they believed it was the sound of a coconut falling on a roof.

The following morning people who passed by the said area noticed a man lying dead behind the stage and they called the police. The victim was later found to have been shot in the left forearm and the left side of his torso.

Dr. Menerva Millor, who checked the body of the victim, estimated that the victim was shot between 1 to 2 a.m.

Investigators recovered a pair of sky blue short pants and an orange flashlight just a few meters away from the body of the victim.
