City government slates medical mission today

CEBU - The Cebu City government will reach out to less-fortunate residents in the coastal barangays today through a medical mission in Fort San Pedro at 8 a.m. as a thanksgiving offering to the Sr. Santo Niño.

Councilor Edwin Jagmoc said more than two thousand beneficiaries from barangays Ermita, San Roque, Carreta, Tinago, Mabolo and Tejero are projected to be given free medical treatment.

Residents experien-cing illnesses such as pneumonia, diarrhea, acute dyspepsia, hypertension, diabetes, arthritis, and common illnesses such as fever, cough and colds will be given complete medication and free medicines. 

There will also be medical consultations, sugar-cholesterol screenings and games.

Ten nurses and 20 doctors will be present to cater to ill patients from San Roque, Tinago and Ermita in the morning and Mabolo, Carreta, and Tejero will be in the afternoon. Also, the city government still welcomes volunteer nurses from other areas.

The Coastline Management Board in partnership with Rose Pharmacy and UNILAB conducts medical mission as a way to help residents in coastal areas.
