Wanted man shot dead

Cebu - A man who faced separate charges for murder and rape was shot dead by an unknown assailant after watching a beauty pageant in barangay Mag-atubang, Tuburan town early morning yesterday.

PO1 Junyl Ater, the responding officer of the incident, said Ricolito Pepito, 27, a farmer and a resident of said place, was walking home with his siblings when someone shot them in the dark. 

They later found that Ricolito was lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the left side of his face.

No one was able to see who shot him, Ater said.

The victim was rushed to the Tuburan District Hospital but he failed to make it there alive.

While the victim had pending warrants for murder and rape in Toledo City they are still not certain of the motive behind the killing.   — Christopher Gabriel Bonjoc/BRP  (THE FREEMAN)
