Man charged for murdering friend

CEBU - A man has been charged with murder before the court yesterday for allegedly killing his friend over a grudge last year.

Casimera Diaz, the mother of slain Domir Diaz, has filed the murder charge against Isaias Capablanca, who allegedly killed her son using a bolo on September 9, 2008.

Capablanca was reportedly seen stabbing Diaz by a certain Edgardo Heridanio, who reported the incident to the mother of the victim.

Casimera and Heridanio then proceeded to the crime scene where they saw Diaz lifeless and bath in his own blood while the bolo still tucked in his back.

The two said that Capablanca went back and shouted, “Buhi pa na, dili pa na traydor dili unta na maingon ana, walay palag diha,” and then the suspect left the place.

Diaz and Capablanca were reported to have been drinking before the incident.

Naga City Prosecutor Aida Sanchez, who conducted an investigation into the incident, said a subpoena had already been sent to the suspect last September 26.

The suspect, however, did not file any counter-affidavit on the case, prompting Sanchez to elevate the case to the court. — Jasmin R. Uy/LPM   (THE FREEMAN)
