CPPO probes 2 erring policemen
The Cebu Provincial Police Office will be simultaneously conducting separate investigations against two policemen who have committed different offenses.
The first policeman, identified as PO2 Pepito Luage of Tudela Police Station in Camotes Island, would be investigated after he went wild because of his impatience to get his bonus inside the CPPO headquarters last December 30.
Luage had already asked for apology for what he had done to CPPO Deputy Director for Operations Romeo Perigo.
But Perigo said yesterday that the complaint against Luage would be pursued and only CPPO director Carmelo Valmoria could decide what sanction to impose upon the erring policeman if found that he is guilty.
Another police officer, PO2 Zeosito Veloso of the Provincial Intelligence Branch, will also be investigated after he was accused of hitting and pointing his gun to a civilian while they were beside a cockpit at past 3 p.m. last Thursday in the town of Sogod.
Celso Good alleged that Veloso was under the influence of liquor at the time of the incident, an allegation that was strongly denied by the concerned policeman.
Veloso admitted he shoved Good after he got irked at him for calling him as a “good-for-nothing cop.”
The policeman said Good was exaggerating the story, adding he was just buying food when Good passed and made a rude remark at him. – Christopher Gabriel Bonjoc/WAB (THE FREEMAN)
