Four injured in collision

CEBU - A police officer and three civilians were injured after two motorcycles collided head on along V. Rama Avenue in barangay Guadalupe the other night.

Investigation revealed that Police Officer Rico Nuez was heading towards Capitol Site with his XRM 125 when it bumped into another motorcycle driven by Severino Dinopol. Riding with Dinopol were his wife Elma and 11-year-old son Joshua.

Traffic investigator Armando Bañoc said Nuez had encroached the center lane, which caused his motorcycle to collide with that of the Dinopol’s. Nuez was reportedly under the influence of liquor at that time.

Nuez was brought to the Cebu Doctors’ University Hospital to treat his leg injury while the Dinopol family was brought to the Cebu City Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. – Ramil V. Ayuman/JMO(THE FREEMAN)
