PO2 Randy Sibay of San Remigio Police said that Cortez was found floating in the fish pond owned by Bello Terana.
Municipal Health Officer Edgar Espinosa has recommended the conduct of an autopsy after seeing a wound on the victim’s left face to determine whether there was foul play.
The autopsy conducted by Dr. Nestor Satur of the PNP Crime Laboratory, however showed that the victim indeed died of drowning.
In the afternoon, the body of 24-year-old Wendell Bonghanoy was found washed in the shores of barangay Molobolo in Tuburan town.
According to SPO1 Carlo Canseco, Bonghanoy, a resident of barangay Dapdap, was with his family and friends having a party in the beach.
