'Call boy' facing two drug charges

Ronald Tumulak alias “call boy” was indicted for violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of the Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, before the Regional Trial Court in Cebu City.

The Cebu City Prosecutors’ Office recommended a P200,000 bail for Tumulak’s temporary liberty for possession of illegal drugs. However, even if he will be able to post bail, the accused would remain in jail because he was not allowed to post bail in the charge for selling drugs.

Tumulak was arrested by the members of the Talamban Police Station during a drug bust operation in the evening of December 14 at Sitio Dita, Barangay Pulangbato, Cebu City.

PO1 Joje Magdadaro, who acted as poseur buyer pretending to be looking for drugs to buy, approached Tumulak who was then sitting on a log under a tree.

But Tumulak asked Magdadaro to show his money before he was given a pack of shabu.

The undercover policeman then gave the P500 marked-money to Tumulak, which gave the other members of the team the go signal rush up and placed the accused under arrest.

During a body search, police recovered the buy bust money from Tumulak’s pocket together with two more packs of shabu. — Fred P. Languido/WAB (THE FREEMAN)
