Organization elects pioneering officials

CEBU – The Kapunongan sa Yanong Magsusulat ug Magsisibya (KAYAM) has recently held its election of pioneering set of officers for 2009 to 2011 at a downtown restaurant in Cebu City.

Elected president was Joel M. Solon, co-host of DYMR’s “Salingsing” program and publisher-editor of the Visayas Mirror.

Other officers are Wen Celen of DYMR and Banat News, vice president; Hilario “Jun” Villagonzalo Jr. of Bantay Radyo and the Legislative Gavel, treasurer; Alex Ortega of BISAYA, secretary. Joeffrey Quiñones of RPN-DYKC, auditor; and Junalin Tamarra, editor-in-chief of Scanner and information communication officer of CTS, press relations officer.

Elected as board of directors were Ben Batucan of DYRB, Nestor Arevalo of Visayas Mirror, Ramon M. Gallardo of Capitol Public Information Office, Prof. Antonio N. Pasignajen of CSCST, Joseph D. Mariblanca of Superbalita, Robinson D. Lunzaga of Visayas Mirror, Cesa S. Albor of Aksyon Radyo, and Dr. Russel Martin N. Fullozos of DYHP.

Advisers are Dr. Edgar A. Alosbaños, Talisay City Mayor Soc Fernandez, Felix U. Basadre Jr., Jose Sesican, lawyer Pedro Mendoza, Engr. Eduardo Adlawan and Florencio “Boy” Cagalitan.

The pioneering officers will take their oath at the Sacred Heart Center on January 31, 2009 with Mayor Soc Fernandez as inducting officer. (PR/LPM) (THE FREEMAN)
