Husband hacks wife's lover
CEBU – A 58-year-old man is now in critical condition after the husband of his supposed girlfriend hacked him with a bolo when he caught them petting inside the house of the victim’s sister.
The incident happened past 8 p.m. Thursday in barangay Bulangsuran in the southern town of Samboan.
Eutiquio Tolvo, 45, who voluntarily surrendered to the police Friday, said he has been suspecting that his wife was having an affair with the victim, Cerelo Ferras, 58, who also happens to be their neighbor. Ferras was a widow.
That night of the incident, Tolvo reportedly caught Ferras and his wife kissing and hugging inside the house of Ferras’ sister.
Angered, Tolvo got hold of a 19-inch bolo and there and then attacked Ferras, hitting him on the right side of his face, right forearm, and other parts of his body. He then fled the crime scene.
Ferras was first rushed to the town’s district hospital and was later transferred to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center. The next day, Tolvo voluntarily surrendered to Bulangsuran barangay captain Pedro Bilocura who turned him over to the Samboan police.
A formal complaint is now being readied against Tolvo but the police said they are waiting for the decision of the victim. Tolvo and his wife Conrada have eight children. — Christopher Gabriel Bonjoc/JMO (THE FREEMAN)
