Vidal commends youth for keeping their faith
Cebu Archbishop Ricardo Cardinal Vidal has commended the youth for their unwavering faith and in going to church early in the morning to attend the Misa de Gallo.
Vidal, who celebrated the fourth day of the Misa de Gallo or the Dawn Mass at the Santa Teresa de Avila church in Talisay City yesterday, was happy when he saw that most of those who attended the Mass are the youths who walked to the church even bringing with them their own chairs.
Before the Dawn Mass, the prelate inaugurated the newly-finished edifice of Baptistry of Santa Teresa de Avila church.
Yesterday also happened to be the 59th birthday of the Parish Priest of Santa Teresa de Avila, Monsignor Joselito Tajanlangit.
Present during the event were Cebu first district Rep. Eduardo Gullas and the Talisay City officials.
During his homily, Vidal said that he is thankful for the gift of faith because it is the only important thing that was left by our ancestors and the Talisaynons behind.
“Dili ikalimod akto sa pagtuo kining inyong kadaghan ug kadasig ug kanang paglukdo usab og lingkuranan,” Vidal said.
According to him, he is happy because he witnessed that most of the church goers are youths and he is thankful that they give importance to religion.
“Sa matag misa sa kadlawon namatikdan gyud nako na daghan gayud kaayo ang mga batan-on nga madasigon nga mag-ambahan nganhi sa simbahan aron motambong sa misa sa kadlawon, bisan tingali og gisungog kana sila sa sa mga urog ug kabag-ohan nga kuno kinaraan na wala nay kapuslanan ang tinuohan, dili na kuno bililhon ang relihiyon,” Vidal added.
The cardinal asked the parishioners to give guidance to the youths to do the things of mercy and believe to keep them away from any negative things.
“Tulubagon nato ang mga batan-on, atong kaakohan nga ato silang tultolan sa dalan, atong katungdanan nga ato silang tudloan sa kamatuoran ug papuy-on sa kinabuhi sama sa atong Ginoong Hesus Kristo,” he stressed. — Brenda D. Batuto/WAB (THE FREEMAN)
