Hotel steward arrested for molesting two women

Cebu - A steward in a posh hotel (name withheld) in Cebu City was arrested for allegedly sexually molesting and attempting to rape two women in sitio Mayna, barangay Cogon Pardo, Cebu City.

Charges of attempted rape will be filed against Franklin Cabellon, 35, married, resident of the place for molesting the two friends, Angie and Marie (not their real names), who are both 21 years old and neighbors of the suspect.

Reports said that on Tuesday night, the suspect and the two victims were having a drinks at a videoke bar in celebration of the birthday of Angie’s father.

It was learned that Angie had just arrived from Singapore to attend the birthday party of her father. On the other hand, Marie is a native of Mindanao and is living with a friend.

But early morning yesterday, SPO4 Edgar Abangan of Pardo Police Station said that Cabellon entered the house of the victims by breaking the window panes.

The suspect, who is a friend of Angie’s father, was allegedly engaged in a drinking session but later left and went to the victims’ house.

Once inside, the suspect allegedly approached the sleeping victims who were both drunk and started touching and kissing them.

Intoxicated, Angie allegedly slept only wearing a T-shirt and Marie covered her naked body with a malong.

With this, Cabellon allegedly took advantage of both victims, who were allegedly sleeping soundly, by putting a kiss mark on Angie’s neck first and licking her genitals several times.

The suspect also allegedly licked Marie’s genitals next and touched the different parts of both victims’ body.

But the suspect was interrupted when Marie woke up and shouted for help upon seeing him licking Angie’s genitals.

Alarmed, Cabellon, who was already naked, allegedly jumped out of the window and ran towards their house after he noticed the presence of Angie’s mother.

The suspect’s clothing, a black brief, T-shirt, and a pair of maong shorts with his identification card were turned over to the police.

A follow-up operation conducted by the miscellaneous team of Pardo Police Station together with some barangay tanods resulted in the arrest of the suspect inside their house.

Abangan further said that the mother of Cabellon, who refused to give her name, blamed the victims themselves because they were allegedly wearing skimpy shorts and revealing clothes while they were singing and drinking at the videoke bar prior the incident.

“Lalaki gud ng akong anak unya pwerte magpakigol sa mga babaye nga nagpa-bigang nag-sayaw-sayaw. Natural lang maibog ang akong anak, lalaki gud na,” Abangan quoted Cabellon’s mother as saying. — Niña Chrismae G. Sumacot with reports from Guam Logroño of Banat News/WAB (THE FREEMAN)
