CEBU - A man has been charged before the Regional Trial Court last Friday after he was arrested for possession of 0.18 grams of shabu during a buy-bust operation last September 13.
Angelito Arcaya was charged for violation of Section 11 of the Dangerous Drugs Act after police caught him buying drugs from a suspected drug dealer who was supposed to be the target of their buy- bust operation.
According to the affidavit of PO1 Baby Rallos, they were on an operation to catch a certain “Boy Git”, of F. Calderon Ext. in Carbon, in the act of selling drugs after receiving information of the man’s illegal activities.
Rallos, who acted as the poseur-buyer together with the informant said that upon reaching the said area, they talked to Boy Git and asked him if he could sell them drugs worth P500.
Git was allegedly talking to Arcaya at that time and Rallos overheard that Arcaya had just bought shabu from Boy Git.
After Arcaya and Git’s conversation, Rallos gave the boodle money to Boy Git who then handed them the shabu.
Rallos said that Boy Git could have sensed that he was a policeman because after giving them the drugs, the target suspect ran off and escaped.
Rallos said that his men got hold of Arcaya who was then arrested with nine sachets of shabu in his pocket which is equivalent to 0.18 grams.
Arcaya is now detained. — Jasmin R. Uy/BRP (THE FREEMAN)
