PAG-IBIG fund to members: Contribute more to save more
CEBU - The Home Development Mutual Fund, popularly known as Pag-IBIG Fund, is campaigning for increased membership contribution, saying it could provide higher dividends compared to what banks offer.
With the standard contribution of P100 per month, the agency told its member to contribute more than what is required to save more.
The campaign is one of the focuses of HDMF as it celebrates its 28th anniversary on December 14 in the theme “Dalawampu’t Walong Taon ng Pagsasama: Isang Pag-IBIG, Isang Pamilya,” towards a better and stronger HDMF.
In its 28th year, Pag-IBIG Fund proudly announced that it has increased its membership from the previous year’s records, and the agency is currently busy on its efforts to improve its system for faster and quality service to the people.
On October 11, the agency’s office in Central Visayas started the Membership Identification (MID) project that issues permanent IDs to its members.
Ma. Corazon Cinco, chief of the Marketing and Enforcement Division of Pag-IBIG-Cebu City, said the MID is aimed at organizing and filtering their members because some members are counted multiple times.
With the new ID system, each member will be given a unique ID number to avoid double membership.
Pag-IBIG Cebu City branch Department Manager Antonio Enriquez said that they had 271, 457 registered members, but as of the last audit using the MID system, they recorded 226,000.
The MID process sent letters and diskettes to members with instructions on how they will use the diskette for the purpose of obtaining the information which shall be used for documentation.
Pag-IBIG sent letters to those who have already paid for the month of October where receivers were given one month to comply.
Cinco said the retrieval process has become one of the challenges because as of yesterday, only 12 percent from the employees have complied and eight percent from employer-based. — Jessica Ann R. Pareja/WAB (THE FREEMAN)
