Brgy clerk of Linao nabbed for masiao

CEBU - After three-day surveillance, a barangay clerk of Linao, Talisay City was arrested by policemen last Thursday evening after he was caught in the act of tallying “masiao”, an illegal numbers game.

The suspect was identified as Norberto Laceda Jr., 29 years old, and a resident of the said barangay.

PO3 Mikie Espina and PO2 Roelito Tano of the Talisay City Police Station also confiscated the tally sheet, bet money of yet undetermined amount, and other paraphernalia from the suspect.

Tano said in an interview by The FREEMAN that they already filed a case against Laceda last Friday for violating Republic Act 9287 or the Act on penalties for illegal numbers games.
