Pregnant woman shot to death in Danao City

CEBU - A woman who is a six-month pregnant was killed after she was shot by an unidentified man inside her house in sitio Guizo, barangay Tuburan Sur, Danao City past 8 p.m. last Sunday.

SPO4 Edgar Gomez of the Danao City Police Station said Jocelyn Roble, 25, was sitting on a chair inside her house after eating supper when the assailant peeked in from a window and shot at her, hitting her in the left chest.

Her relatives and neighbors rushed her to the Danao City District Hospital but she was declared dead on arrival. Despite that, relatives still tried bringing her to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in hopes of saving her baby.

But the baby also failed to make it to the hospital alive.

Meanwhile, a motorcycle-for-hire driver was shot dead by unidentified men in barangay Prenza, Balamban town around 6 p.m. last December 7.

Rumolos Sasing Tribunalo, 35, a resident of barangay Vito, was driving his black Honda Wave motorcycle taking a passenger to barangay Vito when the perpetrators tried to overtake them on another motorcycle.

The man riding pillion shot the victim who fell to the ground as his passenger ran off.The assailants returned and shot the victim a few more times as he lay there.

“Daghan jud ang iyang samad pinusilan pero mostly jud sa iyang igo diha sa iyang nawong,” said SPO2 Ardie Banate, investigator of Balamban police station.

While policemen found the victim carrying an empty holster they are not certain if he had a gun that was just taken by the assailants after they shot him.

The relatives of the victim named some likely suspects but the police are still keeping their names in confidence. 

In another incident, a man was stabbed by another unidentified man while he was attending a benefit dance in sitio Kalmar, barangay Lawaan I, Talisay City, early morning yesterday.

Niadas Jimson Sigue, 20, a resident of sitio Sombria, barangay Lawaan II, was hurriedly brought to the Talisay City District Hospital after the incident then later transferred to the VSMMC.
