Vendor hurt in shooting

-

CEBU - A siakoy vendor is now in critical condition after he was shot by a man he was playing “tong-its” with around 11:00 p.m. last Monday in the town of Minglanilla.

The victim was identified by the police as Sonny Tanola, 33, while the alleged assailant was only known by his alias “Dragon” and “Tambok.”

Minglanilla Police Station duty desk officer PO2 Christopher Castro said Tanola and the assailant were playing “tong-its” and later had an argument over the bet.

The argument turned violent and the assailant pulled out a gun and shot the victim in the back before fleeing.

Policemen recovered a Swiss army knife at the crime scene although they found no stab wounds on the victim.

Sonny’s younger brother Renato, 23, said the victim is still unconscious. – Christopher Gabriel Bonjoc/BRP   (THE FREEMAN)
