Four minors, one of whom is a girl, were taken to the Cebu City Medical Center after they were reportedly victimized by “drive-by shooters” alleged to be members of Bloods Gang early morning yesterday in R. Padilla Street, barangay Duljo-Fatima.
The victims, allegedly members of the Cebu Real Gangsters, were identified by police as Piechen Secretaria, 13, of barangay Ermita, who sustained injuries to the head and left leg; Rage Ravena, 15, of Abellana St., barangay Suba, injured on his left knee; John Nazareno, 15, of M. Velez St., Capitol Site, wounded on his left armpit; Kevin Donaire, 16, of Kamagong, Lahug, wounded on his left foot; and Ken Protacio, 28, of Duljo-Fatima, who sustained a wound on his right leg. One of the three young suspects was identified as Franco Obiso of Sawang Calero.
Investigation conducted by SPO2 Rey Cuyos and other members of the Homicide Section of the Cebu City Police Office showed that the victims came from a benefit dance in barangay Sto. Niño.
The five were reportedly huddled at the roadside having a chat when the suspect, onboard a bicycle, with two of his companions each allegedly armed with a handgun passed by them and fired at them several times which prompted the victims to scamper for safety.
The victims were rushed to the hospital and are now safe except for Secretaria who is still fighting for her life. Responding cops failed to track down the other two assailants.
Police recovered from the crime scene 10 empty shells of a .99mm, one empty shell of a caliber .45, six slugs, and three metallic fragments.
PO1 Michael Codaste, one of the investigators, confirmed that the two groups have a standing conflict.
Murder charges will be filed today against the suspect and his companions who are still at large. — Niña Chrismae G. Sumacot with reports from Guamitos Logroño of BANAT News
