PNP supports Dilaab project

-

CEBU – Philippine National Police chief Jesus Versoza was in Cebu City yesterday to support the launching of “Pwede Pala Pinoy” project of Dilaab Foundation, Inc., which is aimed at, among others, uplifting the morale and values of policemen.

In his speech at the Sacred Heart School, Versoza said he is strongly supporting the project because it will help bring the police much “closer to the people,” especially that the project’s major goal is to encourage the public to help build a better society by eradicating corruption and narcopolitics.

Local police officials headed by Regional police director Ronald Roderos also attended the event and himself said the project will teach good values and boost the morale not only to policemen but also to the general public.

About 100 police recruits undergoing training at the Regional Training Center in barangay Apas also attended yesterday’s launch.

Dilaab Foundation Inc. is a faith-impelled Church-based volunteer movement, which advocates heroic Christian citizenship and leadership. The organization aims to be the forefront of social transformation.

Cebu Archbishop Ricardo Cardinal Vidal did not make it to the event but Batangas Archbishop Ramon Arguelles, who also came to Cebu to support the project, officiated the Mass that formally started the program. — Rene U. Borromeo/JMO (THE FREEMAN)
