Dad eyes decent clothes for task force members

CEBU - While the Cebu City Hall commends the successful work of “Task Force Motorcycle,” City Councilor Gerardo Carillo yesterday requested that the members wear “decent clothes” during operation to avoid being mistaken as bandits.

Carillo raised the concern in yesterday’s session of the City Council after he personally saw some members of the task force wearing “masks” and carrying firearms on board their motorcycles.

Since the re-launch of the task force last September, crimes perpetrated by motorcycle-riding suspects have reportedly decreased.

Task force members and personnel of the city police’s Theft and Robbery Section usually go around the city with their M16 firearms at night but Carillo said they would easily be mistaken as bandits if they continue to wear “masks.”

The task force was formed by city police chief Patrocinio Comendador and is being led by Deputy Director Paul Labra II and Senior Inspector George Ylanan.
