2 men arrested for gun, shabu paraphernalia
CEBU – The Task Force Motorcycle of the city police arrested two men on the evening of All Saints Day, one for illegal possession of unlicensed gun and the other for possession of shabu paraphernalia.
The team, led by SPO1 Filomeno Mendaros went to barangay Suba after receiving information that Miguel Viras Jr., 31, a resident of the barangay, was hiding there or in neighboring barangay Pasil.
Viras reportedly is the subject of a robbery complaint in C. Padilla Street, barangay San Nicolas.
After scouring Suba, the team found Viras past 8 p.m. along M. dela Concepcion St. with an unlicensed .38 cal. revolver with six live rounds. Viras allegedly attempted to escape but the police quickly arrested him.
Less than an hour later, the team also placed Neil Buhay under arrest after he was found with shabu paraphernalia at a random checkpoint along Colon Street. Buhay is currently detained at the city police office. – Niña Chrismae G. Sumacot/JMO (THE FREEMAN)
