Man, 59, found dead in ravine

-

CEBU - A 59-year-old man who was missing since Saturday was found down a 100-feet ravine in sitio Santo Niño, barangay Apas yesterday morning.

A bloodied Porferio Papillero of Lower Santo Niño was found down the ravine already lifeless by his son Joseph during a search with authorities.

Joseph said his father has been missing since early morning last Saturday after he went out of their house to feed their goats.

He said they looked for him from afternoon till evening but failed to locate him so they decided to report his absence to the authorities last Sunday.

SPO4 Alex Dacua of the Homicide Police of the Cebu City Police Office said it was not clear whether Papillero indeed fell down the ravine last Saturday. Papillero had several bruises all over his body when he was found yesterday.

The police had requested the family to have Papillero’s body autopsied to determine if there was foul play involved in his death owing to reports that his family reportedly had a recent misunderstanding with their neighbors. — Edwin Ian Melecio and Guam Logroño of Banat News (THE FREEMAN)
